It's about time!

Nathan's Post:
It's about time we update you guys on our lives here in the crazy city! Lots has happened since the past few weeks.

1. My show Altar Boyz in Manchester NH went extremely well and is finished (I'm officially back in NY) The Palace Theater Company offered me two other contracts with them... Cabaret and A Christmas Carol. I turned them both down however because I really missed my wife and Cabaret is like the worst show to do if you're an active Christian.

2. Whitney's show Angelina Ballerina is currently going really well! It officially opened last weekend and will run until January. She has gotten great feedback from the production staff not to mention the writer of the books loves Whitney!! She has also gotten great reviews:

We saw the opening show this past weekend. The writers/directors have done an incredible job transforming the Angelina story on to the live stage. Bravo for selecting the amazing actress who plays the lead role of Angelina. She is such a delight to watch and hear! Our children couldn't take their eyes off of her! Whitney Meyer What a great find! Thanks for bringing this adorable musical to NYC!

"As Angelina, Meyer is a graceful dancer and has a lovely voice and an expressive face. She imbues Angelina with sweetness, spunk, and charm... The entire cast dances and sings with great energy. To their credit, never once did I forget that the characters were mice."

3. My mom and dad (Mark and Beth) came to New York 2 weekends ago to see Whitney's show and then drove to New Hampshire to see my show. They had a great time and they experienced eating sushi for the first time!

4. My in-laws (Fred and Shirley) just left this morning. They flew in last Thursday I believe and explored New England, saw my show and then traveled to New York to see Whitney's show. Last night the four of us went and saw Jersey Boys and we had amazing seats! We were blown away! This show was incredible. Jarrod Spector who played Frankie Valli was out of this world phenomenal. His voice is weirdly perfect! I say weird because I'm pretty sure he could sing as high as my wife. He was brilliant. We had a great time.

5. I got offered another performing gig but this time with New York Stage Originals for A Christmas Carol - Scrooge Concert version as the part of the Nephew. So I signed my contract and will start rehearsals in Manhattan in November. The show is actually a tour but there are only 6 performances:
Dec 1 - to Slippery Rock depart NYC at 5pm
Dec 2-Slippery Rock PA
Dec 3- Sugar Loaf NY
Dec 4 to Oxford OH
Dec 5 Oxford OH
Dec 6 back home (NYC)

Dec 13 NYC to Hamlet NC
Dec 14 Hamlet
Dec 15 to Macon GA
Dec 16 to Rocky Mount NC
Dec 17 back home (NYC)

6. I no longer work at Make Meaning (the pottery studio). I had a meeting with one of my bosses and she basically said that I haven't been a team player and that I am not getting a raise. She asked me if I think that I could become a team player and I said nope. I quit with a smile on my face.

7. The Lord is so good! Now I have time to spend with my friends and wife. I get to audition for the next 3 weeks and then will start rehearsals. Shirley made us some business cards and postcards that we'll send out after auditions and etc.

8. Whitney and I joined a small group from church every Monday night - it's been really refreshing.

So glad you and Whitney are FREE of "Make," a truly miserable company to work for.. who has more turn-over than any company I've heard of in a long time. We know they were just retaliating for Whitney putting in her two week notice last week. Oh well, on to bigger and better things!
We had a BLAST this week with you two!! Can't wait to do it again! Proud of you both!!
