Altar Boyz

I've been here in Manchester, NH for three days now and it's crazy how slow the overall time seems to be going. Whenever I am in a new atmosphere though this usually is the case. I am very much enjoying my experience thus far. The guys in my cast are awesome. Very supportive and talented. This company is really professional and respective of our time. We've had 3, 8 hour rehearsals and we have learned choreography for 4 songs, blocking for 3 scenes, and we've learned all the music but one song. It's amazing how fast we have to learn and retain everything. I keep telling myself how healthy this is for my brain. Especially since I haven't been doing this for 8 months. The dancing in this show is super intense! So fast and we have to sing the whole time. So challenging and yet so rewarding. I can't wait to perform this baby - it's going to be a blast. I haven't taken any pictures so far but our theater is beautiful. It seats 1200 people! We've been rehearsing in a studio right next to the theater. Our director, Carl, is really great! He is also the choreographer, he is very encouraging and confident in our abilities. Two of the guys in the show ---- there are only 5 guys in the show including myself ----- 2 of them were in the National Tour of Altar Boyz as the same characters they are playing in our production. This company really puts on great shows.
Here is a quick synopsis of the show that I'm doing:
A foot stomping musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band consisting of five small-town boys - Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham - trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time.

All of our songs have really close harmonies and the writing is just sooo funny! I have to keep myself from laughing while rehearsing. I hope to get some videos of this production so that I can share them with you. But in the meantime I will share the Chicago cast doing "God Put the Rhythm in Me."
