Do a Jig for my Gig!

(Whitney's Post)

So, good news! I got a new theater gig! Wahoo! So here's how it all happened.
Nathan submitted me through email to be considered for a job posting that went up for an equity theater looking for a 'non-union female musical theater actress who can sing and tap well'. Nathan sent them a few videos of me tapping and also to my website. Within a few hours they emailed back saying that they were very interested in me but needed to know how tall I was. I responded with telling them that I am 5'3". Within 30 minutes, they called my cellphone. (things move fast!) They said that I was a little shorter than what they were looking for, but they liked me and needed to find someone fast.
The gig will only take me three weeks out of NYC. They are going to fly me to IL on Sunday! (also very fast) and will fly me back to NYC when the contract is over. I will be provided with housing - my own room and bathroom, and also a free gym membership, ya! The gig is a vaudeville 1930's musical review that is a work-in-progress. (Think Follies and Betty Boop..haha) I am very excited because I am going to become EMC (an Equity Membership Candidate). This means that since I am working at an equity theater, I will gain some Equity points towards getting my equity card.
At auditions...When you are EMC, you are seen before the non-equity actors are seen. So...this whole time since Nathan and I have been in New York, we have been non-union. Therefore, the Equity actors have been seen before us, and then the EMC members are seen after them...then the NON-UNION is finally seen...if they have time. So, this is going to help out tremendously in auditions. :) Hooray!
This is also a positive because I will get a nice change of pace from Angelina Ballerina. Luckily, my theater here with Angelina is going to let me return to the show when I get back. :)
The Lord is definitely providing and making everything fall right in to place in order for me to leave so quickly. It is very obvious that the Lord opened this door wide open for me to walk through. (and ..Thanks to Nathan for submitting me!) God is giving me a nice break from Angelina, which is something I have been needing and praying for. He is giving me a job at an equity theater where I get EMC points! My babysitting dates that I had schedule during those three weeks are being covered by my friends. My dance studio job is getting covered by my friends, and our dear friend Deonte is going to be subletting our guest bedroom for the month of March to help keep Nathan company and to help with our bills while I'm gone! Thank you Jesus!

Thanks everyone for your continuous support and prayers. I will of course keep you updated while i'm in IL!
