Whitney Turns 25!!

Whitney turned 25 this past Saturday and we took the whole day to celebrate! 25 is big deal as I'm sure most of you know... 1/4 of a century! I wanted to make this day jammed pack with fun adventures. We started at Alice's Tea Cup for brunch.

Afterwards we walked past this puppy shop and we of course had to play with this precious one. Whitney called him Butterscotch Fluffy.

We next went downtown to lower Manhattan to a Museum all dedicated to Anne Frank. Whitney has been pretty interested in Anne Frank ever since she found out that August 4th was the day that the Nazi's found her and her family hiding and took them to the concentration camps. When we visited my family in Iowa in May, my mom and Whitney tried to go to a museum about Anne Frank but the event changed so they didn't get to see it. I'm glad we got to learn more about her life.

We were right by the Financial District and since the weather was beautiful we rested underneath some shade and enjoyed the scenery. In the distance, you'll notice the Statue of Liberty.

And... the last activity besides dinner was ARCHERY! We both have never done this activity before and I found a groupon online for Archery and thought this would be so fun. Especially, since we are both reading Hunger Games and just saw the movie Brave.

It was pretty tough! It takes so much precision and a steady grip to allow it hit the target. What was really fun about this was they started all of us pretty close but after like 15 minutes they would pull our line further and further making it much more difficult.

We ended the night at Watawa - our favorite Sushi place with four of our great friends. A triple date:) It was an eventful day!!
Happy Birthday to the most important person in my life!

Gosh, I've commented on this post several times but I still dont see my post. I'll try one more time. I just wanted to say that I am so thankful that Whitney has such a wonderful husband who knows how to show love and make her feel special. You are both amazing and I love how you love each other!! Nathan, thanks for treating my daughter so special! Love you, Mom (Shirley)
